Commissioned by the San Diego Italian Film Festival for their 2020 Festival Launch Event.

A SPECIAL TRIBUTE

Akiyama Music's love for Ennio Morricone started while watching Westerns with our grandfather.  Who would have known that our love for Westerns would breed our love for music.  Once Upon a Time in the West, and The Ecstasy of Gold are two of Morricone’s pieces that expanded modern film scoring techniques by using instruments such as electric guitar, harmonica, and voice.  With these iconic scores, Morricone not only created a new genre, but also a new sound.  We would like to dedicate these pieces to our grandfather who introduced us to one of the great Maestros.
